Submitted on 6/9/2017 Review title of TimWorks great if you don't saturate your Wi-Fi connection I have been using this technology from various venders and want to love it, but it has one major limitation. If you are using Wi-Fi for heavy internet use while projecting, it tends to lag and freeze. However, if you are using Ethernet or projecting previously downloaded content this adapter works great.

The Wireless Display Adapter is not the problem, but the amount of data you are trying to pump through your Wireless connection is saturating your Wi-Fi bandwidth. Microsoft Store Team responded on 3/27/2017 Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

What you are describing is not a typical experience. We found a troubleshooting page that may help: While the page is about connecting to a Surface the suggestion to make sure drivers and your device are updated are the same for any device. If your problem persists please reach out to us through email at PCaccessories@microsoft.com including a link to this review and we’ll see what more we can do for you! Hope that helps, Nelson Surface Customer Care. Submitted on 8/21/2016 Review title of KHP35758Works for an hour or so and then disconnects Bought this together with a Win 10 Vaio Flip laptop several months ago to use while traveling, both for business presentations and to stream to hotel TVs. Occasional short term use worked fine. Now I have added a monitor to use when working at home.

The first connection is fine, but after one or two hours of use, it disconnects for unknown reasons. I haven't found a way to re-connect (adapter no longer found) other than turning off both, laptop and display adapter. The same problem exists when the laptop goes to sleep: after wake-up the laptop does no find the adapter anymore. Was hoping to minimize the cables on my desk, but this adapter is failing too often. Wifi Adapter Not Working

I bought this to stream my surface 4 to my tv thinking this was MADE for this kind of setup. Wanted to stream video games, movies, websites (youtube, comedynetwork, etc.) but it failed to do all of those task. It jitters, lag, crash, get off-sync. Microsoft should never sell this. Here is the MAJOR problems: 1.

    Realtek Wifi Adapter Not Working

It doesn't use your wifi, it uses it's own not accessible not configurable wifi that interfere with your wifi. There is nothing you can tweak, fix, or try to do to improve the stream. There is no codec control, no app that is really useful (only useful to update firmware) 3. You can't use any other audio device than your TV. I have really nice bluetooth speaker and wanted to use it with the stream. It will get off-sync, and nothing to sync up your image, can't use computer audio neither since it will off-sync.

No setting to control de audio/video sync. Netflix or VLC. Doesn't work. Blacking out the surface to keep only one screen open, still lag. NOTHING HELPS THIS REALLY BAD PRODUCT.

Get a hdmi cable if you need to stream your PC or get chromecast for movie streaming. It's more reliable.

Click to expand. Can't say whether this was definitively related or not, but was working through the steps on none of the first five steps applied to me, went to run Windows Update and suddenly - after several days of just updating the Windows Defender signature files - I have 89 updates totaling 1033MB. Ran the updates, rebooted and lo and behold my keyboard on the wireless adapter works fine, including the trackpad. I'm inclined to believe the updates were just coincidental and it was actually the reboot (after previously pairing) that got me going. I'm good, will see how well it does on the road. Hi Thank you. I just had it working some minutes ago.

It was tricky but what I've done is having the adapter detected while connected to my Sp1 type cover (previous one), that way I managed to have it in connected status. But I had to try many differents combinations of (on/off),sequences of actions, with the tablet in/not in pairing mode etc.

Once it got connected and remained so for more than 1 second, I disconnected the sp1 type cover from it and rapidly snapped the sp3 type cover to it. While doing so, I saw a error message saying driver error but for one second only. And after that the 'connected' status resumed, and now i'm using it to write this. Glad you had it working too.
